Stages of Gambling Addiction

The progression of addiction to gambling includes three parts that explain the winning, losing and then desperation stage. The winning stage is defined as when a gambler wins in a casino game when gambling on multiple occasions, this give the gambler the optimism that he or she will continue win so they keep gambling even if they have won the jackpot on a fruit machine for example they believe that they will get more out of the machine and end putting the money won back in to the machine. A lot of these gamblers loath the gambling experience especially if they acquire some luck, as these people tend to think that their luck is never going to change. These people will keep on placing bets and then eventually adding to the bets thinking that if they win they will win more but that’s IF they win.

These people will feel very confident until they hit the losing stage.
When a person does hit the losing stage of gambling they end up hiding away from their family and friends and tend to socialise with them less and less.
